The Names Project

One rarely sees needlework of any kind make the news, so this article jumped out at me, "Quilt a display of tragedy". I had heard about The Names Project years ago, but had forgotten about it. This project was and is intended to remember those who lost their lives to Aids. A memorial, as well as a political statement, the quilt is tragic and beautiful at the same time.



I don't know if it still exists, but the Friendship Tapestry offers comfort with it's outreach of optimism. I wish it had made the news too.
